Ford cars are one of the most affordable and user friendly cars available in the market. Ford has established itself as a global competitor and it has a good customer base all over the world. One of the well known products from Ford is the Ford Mustang. Ford started to produce Mustang about 47 years ago during the year 1964. Since then have been adding lots of features to it and have kept their legacy alive. It went through a major re – construction in design during the year 1999.
Mustangs are available in both GT and basic models either as a convertible or a coupe. There is a special and a very powerful SVT Mustang cobra available as well. The 2001 Mustang has got a good amount of upgrades over its previous models. The front has been re – positioned and the entire console has been changed to a new look one. There is a special version of V6 available known as the “Value Leader”. But this model is limited and only 50 pieces of this model were available. The spoilers at the rear have gone through some re – styling. The wheel bases of all the various have increased from 16 inches to 17 inches. The major competitors to the Ford Mustang 2001 are the Pontiac Firebird and the Chevrolet Camaro. And the Chrysler serbing soft top is a big competitor to the Mustang convertible. A special Mustang version has been introduced during 2001 named Bullitt GT. It is the modern update of the 1968 iconic Mustang Fastback GT 390. It got the name Bullitt because that car featured in the famous movie “Bullitt” during that year. This version comes with a 17 inch aluminium wheels and sports the style of the “bullitt”, the suspension has been lowered to give a cooler look and to improve the aerodynamics.
The side scoops are also fantastically designed. It is powered by a V8 engine with about 270 horsepower. It was priced at $3700 and was available in three exciting colors. Ford has announced that it again launch an improved version during 2002. According to Automotive new a total of 174000 mustangs were sold in the year 2000 alone. The 2001 Mustang sports a very trim yet a solid look. Their looks has evolved during the 47 years. Ford always promises to produce better cars which have good solidity and longevity. And the Ford Mustangs do live up to the expectations of the people all the time and delivers par excellence.
